"YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.”
Classical Christian education serves to accomplish many goals. At CCA, this method was chosen to serve three main purposes:
To teach all subjects as components of an integrated whole, created and ordered by God.
To cultivate wisdom and virtue by feeding the mind and soul works that are true, good, and beautiful.
To foster a love of learning by equipping students with tools for a lifetime of learning.
This hybrid model allows parents to choose classes that help provide a rigorous college-preparatory education. We will partner with these parents who are committed to their Biblically ordained role as the primary instructors of their children.
The Lower Program will follow a cycle for history, science, and Bible that will allow families to study these subjects together at home. This will serve to simplify parental instruction time and strengthen family bonds while still allowing students to investigate the material at grade-appropriate levels.
In the Grammar Program, children are naturally inquisitive and excel in learning new information. They are both willing and able to memorize a vast amount of information. We teach to these strengths laying the foundation for future academic success.
Dialectic Stage: Grades 7-9
In the Dialectic stage, students transition from concrete thinking to more analytical thinking that questions, challenges, and tests what they are learning. Teachers adopt a less formal Socratic approach and seek to draw students into discussion, debate, and dialogue. Students' knowledge and understanding are enlarged and their capacity for critical thought is developed as they learn to justify their beliefs. This allows them to join in the "great conversation".
Rhetoric Stage: Grades 10-12
